InteroperabilityR S InfoCon introduces an Interoperability utility that allows LANSA to import processed data of PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne (PSFT E1) real-time . | |
Introduction | |
| PSFT E1 (J.D. Edwards) has some features for interoperability like EDI, Z files, etc. Although they are robust and proven methods, they have certain limitations. For example, if a costomer want to know the Advance Price of specific items (including discounts, rebates, freight charges, etc). In order to achieve it, an order has to be entered in Sales Order program. This is time consuming, inefficient and not real time. Currently, PSFT E1 does not have any such capability in which processed data from the EnterpriseOne system can be exported to another system in real-time.
So, RSI developed a methodology that is capable of achieving the above goal. In fact, using our method, PSFT E1 data and business logic can be accessed without replication in real-time and transport it to any external interface like Web, VB, AS/400, UNIX etc. |

MethodologyOur approach is Simple, Fast and Robust. We use standard PSFT E1 Business Functions and APIs that eliminate the need for code-replication and provide the same functionality as one would get from within PSFT E1. Our approach involves real-time processing by getting into PSFT E1 system, fetching the information, executing the logic and formatting the output data for third-party system. |
|
Business to Business/ConsumerThe greatest advantage of using our approach of treating PSFT E1 as a black box is in Business-To-Business and Business-To-Consumer integration by connecting PSFT E1 processes with other business processes. For example, one can retrieve the availability and other item details from the PSFT E1 database into LANSA (web integration) system. Our approach can be used to make the PSFT E1 data/logic transparent to the outside world. |
|
Advantages
1) Complete PSFT E1 logic/data transparency |
|
Examples
1) Retrieving the Advance Prices of item |
